Sometimes You Have To Take A Leap Of Faith

Many years ago, I moved from Ohio to Florida to take a new job with a major telecommunications manufacturer.  My new job came with a spectacular relocation package.  One of the perks included flying me to Florida to find a place to live.  In advance of my trip, I spent hours online looking at apartments.  I found one that I really liked and had a good feeling about.  I knew that I wanted to live in a relatively new complex not too far from where I would work.  I also knew how much space I needed, what kind of amenities I liked, and they had to allow my dog, Haley, to live there!

When I arrived in Florida, I was a bit overwhelmed.  I’m not so good with maps, and I had to find my way around by myself.  I looked at several apartments that were on the way to the one I found online.  But none of them felt right to me.  When I arrived at the one I found online, I knew right away this was the place I wanted to be!  It was perfect… and best of all, they had two buildings that were dedicated for people who have big dogs.  There was just one problem.  There were no openings for the size apartment I needed in either of the buildings, and none coming up that were known.  I didn’t know what to do.  I just knew this was the place, but it wasn’t working out.

I left the premises and drove down the street to get some privacy and check in with my inner guidance.  I sat in a K-mart parking lot while I asked for guidance.  I immediately heard “Take an apartment in another building, ANY building.”

So, I made my way back to the complex.  I asked if I could take an apartment in another building and move to the big dog building as soon as the apartment I wanted came available.  They agreed.  I had no idea what would happen, but by doing this, it meant that my dog had to stay in Ohio until the right apartment came open.  I just had to believe that it would come together somehow, because I didn’t want to leave her behind.

On the day the movers were at my house, I received a call from the apartment complex.  Guess what… a woman who was scheduled to move in to the apartment I wanted in the big dog building started to move in and changed her mind!  The apartment was never lived in, and they called to offer it to me first.  Of course, there was nothing to think about.  Haley joined me in Florida shortly after I moved in my things.  I was thankful I was able to hear my inner guidance and take the leap of faith that it would work out.  This is truly what it means to believe even before you see it!
